Battle Lake senior Dillon Christensen was a member of the Boys’ Basketball team and counts among his top sports memories working hard to earn a starting spot on the varsity team.  He also recalls finishing out a game with what he thought was a jammed thumb, but finding out the next day that he had actually chipped a bone in his hand.

“Dillon "Dill Bob" Christensen was a fantastic team player,” commented Battle Lake Head Boys Basketball Coach CJ Peeters. “He has so much potential and he grew so much in his last year with the Battlers. Dillon is just starting to scratch the surface on his potential, in all things. He was a bit quiet to start but I think he has built confidence and he really started to blossom for us on the court. Great attitude and hard worker every single day. No matter what the outcome or his role he was all in and never wavered.”

“Being involved in sports has taught me that you need to work hard every day to achieve higher goals,” said Christensen. 

Dillon will be attending Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks and will be pursuing a degree in Fire Technology with Advanced Rescue Certification.  His favorite subjects in high school have been Physical Education and Welding.

Adjusting to circumstances this spring has been, “a lot easier as far as school work is concerned,” said Christensen, “but it is weird to not be able to do all of the fun activities the other seniors have done in previous years.”

Dillon’s advice to underclassman is short and to the point, “Enjoy every day at school like it is your last.”
