Fergus Falls senior McKenzy Braeger was a part of the soccer, basketball and golf programs for the Otters.  Her post high school plans are to attend the College of St. Benedict to become a Nurse Practitioner and hopefully play Club Soccer.  Her favorite school subjects are Math and Anatomy.

“My top soccer highlight was beating Alexandria in a shoot-out on their turf my junior year,” shared Braeger.  “For basketball it was beating Alex to go to state my junior year, and in golf it was all of the bus rides to different meets.”

“McKenzy has been a valuable member of the girls’ basketball program the past few years,” noted Head Coach Brad Strand.  “She has represented Otter Girls Basketball with class by being a great teammate and she was very coachable, always coming to practice with a terrific attitude.  We wish her the very best in the future and have no doubt she will be successful!”

“Sports have taught me many valuable life skills such as responsibility, and also given me some of my closest friends,” said Braeger.  “Not going to school or competing in golf this spring hasn’t been easy at all, but I’ve been trying to get out on the golf course or kick a soccer ball around as much as possible, as well as keeping in contact with my coaches for weekly Zoom sessions.”

“Kenzy has been a great asset to our program,” said Head Girls Soccer and Head Girls Golf Coach Ben Jurgens.  “She leads by example and does all the things coaches wish out of their athletes.  Our golf team is very proud of her!”

McKenzy goes to the Bible for her favorite quote, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you.  Plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
