Lexi McGary’s senior year of sports at Fergus Falls high school didn’t go the way she thought it would.  She missed out on much of her hockey season due to injuries and then had her golf season wiped out by the Coronavirus.  McGary’s top sports memory came her junior year when the Otter girls’ hockey team went to state and finished as consolation champs.

“Lexi brought an element to the hockey team that few can,” noted Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “A hard-nosed grinder at game time, a warm and calming teammate when needed.  I, as well as her teammates, will miss her smile and leadership immensely.”

“I’ve made countless memories and friends through sports, and I’ve learned a lot of necessary skills,” shared McGary.  “This spring has been really tough, but luckily the golf courses are open.  I’ll miss the van rides and meets with my teammates, though.”

“Lexi is such a big part of our program,” commented Head Golf Coach Ben Jurgens. “She has been with us her entire career. She brings a bright and fun attitude to everything we do and down deep she is a fierce competitor!”

Here’s her favorite quote, “Your comfort zone will kill you!”
