Madalynn Otto was a three-sport athlete during her years at Brandon-Evansville high school, participating in volleyball, basketball and softball.  A favorite sports memory of hers is enjoying pre-game hot dogs before each softball game!

Don’t know if softball coach Kasi Sieling indulged in the hot dogs, but she did enjoy coaching Maddie, “Maddie is an amazing young woman who always puts the team before herself.  Her dedication and hard work are something I have always admired and appreciated from her, and these qualities contribute to how well-rounded a young woman she is.  She is a phenomenal leader.  Her personality always put a smile on my face and I am so proud of the person she is growing to be.  I can’t wait to see all that Maddie goes on to accomplish in life.”

Maddie will be attending the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse to major in biology with hopes to become a physician’s assistant in the future.  Accordingly, Science was her favorite high school subject.

“Being in sports has taught me many important life lessons, but the memories of playing with and making new friends over the years will stay with me forever,” shared Otto.

“Maddie really evolved into a vocal leader and lead by example player for us this year,” said Chargers Girls’ Basketball Coach Zachary Traphagen. “She was very respected by all her teammates because of her unselfishness and her toughness. She played some invaluable minutes for us this year and her presence on the defensive end and rebounding was always felt. The thing we will miss the most about Maddie though is her team-first mentality and attitude. It was no surprise to us that she was voted as the Best Teammate for this year's awards banquet. Maddie had an excellent season for us this year and she was a joy to coach!”

To the underclassmen, Maddie said, “my advice is to never take anything for granted and attend all school events because if you don’t you will regret it when high school is over.”
