Rothsay senior Jenna Fabre played volleyball and basketball for the Tigers. She also enjoyed math and graphic arts as her favorite classroom subjects.
“Jenna is an incredible athlete, student, and young woman,” commented Head Volleyball Coach Kim Braaten. “She demonstrates a strong work-ethic, determination, and is a bright star with wherever she pursues. I’m very fortunate to have had the time I’ve had coaching and getting to know her. I’m excited to see her excel in her next chapter in her life.”
Her sports highlights included hitting the game winning shot against Norman County East-Ulen Hitterdal in a basketball playoff game, and getting her 1000th set assist inn a volleyball game against Little 8 Conference rival, Ashby.
“Playing sports has impacted my life because I have made so many friendships through the years,” said Fabre. “They have also pushed me to be a better person overall. Even though we’ve been unable to go to school I have been staying in contact with most of my classmates and teachers, which helps a lot. I also have been going outside to state parks more and getting exercise that way.”
Her basketball coach, Anita Heier, added, “Jenna was a great role model as she worked hard on the court as well as in the classroom. She was a difference maker. She played with a lot of energy and took pride in being our best defensive player.”
Fabre will be attending NDSCS in Wahpeton, pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene.
Dr. Seuss is the source for Jenna’s favorite quote, which goes like this, “be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
Her advice to underclassmen is “to live in the moment and have fun no matter what you are doing because you never know when it is over.”
