Lady Vikings Seeded Fourth in AA State Tournament

The Pelican Rapids Vikings (29-0) were voted the number four seed in the Class AA Minnesota State High School Girls’ Basketball Tournament and will open quarterfinal round play at Williams Arena on Wednesday, March 11 at 5:00pm against Waseca (24-6).

The Vikings advanced to the state tournament with a thrilling buzzer beater from senior Maddie Guler on Friday night in the Section 8AA championship game, which made them 43-41 winners over Fergus Falls.

Waseca earned the state tournament trip by beating Jordan 32-28 in the Section 2AA title game.

Pelican Rapids fans can sign up to ride a bus to the game if they would like.  The bus would load at 2:30 and leave at 3:00pm from Chauncey Martin Field parking lot.  The cost is $42 for adults and $36 for students.  This cost includes bus transportation and the ticket to the game on Wednesday.  Fans may sign up in the Pelican Rapids High School Office on Monday from 8:00am to 11:00am, or Tuesday from 8:00am to 3:00pm.
