“This was a defensive battle that we came up short on, we led 28-26 and just could not get another shot to drop,” said Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland. “Hats off to Henning as they played a great defensive game. I'm super proud of this group of girls we started out the year 3-5 and went on to finish with a 20-7 record. We had 3 losses after the Christmas holiday, all 3 of those teams are in the section championship in their class. I'm super proud but of course disappointed that we didn't advance to Friday. I'm going to miss the 3 seniors, Ceri Meech, Ally Johnson, and Kayla Rocholl have been great teammates and wonderful kids to coach.”
Henning improved to 27-2 on the season, winning for the eighth straight time.
Underwood finishes the season with a record of 20-7.
