Sophomore Tori Ratz buried eight 3-pointers on Saturday afternoon, scoring 28 points to lead the Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team to an 82-51 win over Park Rapids Area in the Section 8AA quarterfinals at Concordia College in Moorhead.

Ellie Colbeck scored 13 of her 18 points in the first half, Carlie Meis contributed 12 points off the bench, making all four of her free throws, and Sabrina Fronning chipped in with 10 points.  Colbeck completed her double-double with 10 assists and also had 6 steals and 6 rebounds.  Ratz had 5 rebounds.  Hannah Polejewski led the team with 7 rebounds.  Fronning dished out 5 assists and came up with 3 steals and Gretchen Davis had 3 assists and 3 steals.

"It was impressive to have four players in double figures," commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Brad Strand.  "We played with good energy and shot it well on a new court.  We also had very good effort off the bench."

The Otters forced 23 turnovers by the Panthers. Park Rapids was led by 20 points from senor post player Rilee Michaelson.  Freshman Tori Weaver added 9 points.

Fergus Falls (24-4) will face Roseau (22-6) at 7:30pm Wednesday at Concordia College in Moorhead.  The Rams have won the last five Section 8AA titles.

"We are looking forward to the matchup with Roseau," added Strand.  "Katie Borowicz scored 35 in their win over Perham and she will present a challenge to us."
