Henning forced 19 Parkers Prairie turnovers on Friday night as they built a 20 point lead in the first half.  The Panthers went on an 11-2 run at the end of the half to cut the Hornets lead to 11 at 31-20 at the break.  They pulled to within eight at 48-40, but Henning was able to regain a double digit lead and post a 65-51 victory.

“Hard-nosed grind it out win tonight in front of a jam-packed gym at Parkers Prairie,” reported Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “This felt like a playoff game. It was a great test heading into post-season. We didn’t find a lot of flow on offense, but competed hard on D to get it done.”

Blake Wallevand led all scorers with 26 points.  He also had 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists.  He was joined in double figures by Isaac Fisher with 14 and Parker Fraki with 11.  Fraki led the team with 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 7 assists.  Fisher added 6 rebounds and 5 assists.  In all, the Hornets assisted on 17 of their 22 made baskets on the night.

Josh Helling led the Panthers with 16 points and Micah Arens added 10.

Henning took excellent care of the basketball, committing only 7 turnovers on the night.  They also made 14-of-18 free throw attempts.

The Hornets wrapped up the top seed in the north half of Section 6A as they finished the regular season at 25-1, having won their last 18 games.

Parkers Prairie will get number two in the south and will enter the post season with a record of 20-6.
