The Arrows had balanced scoring with four players recording double figures. Jacob Cook led the way with 22 points including 18 in the first half. He just missed a double-double chasing down 9 rebounds. Jaden Norby was next with 16 points and a second straight game grabbing 17 rebounds for another double-double. Torin Olson scored 14 points making 11 of them in the second half. Noah Johnson, the Arrows lone senior, finished with 12 points on Senior Night. Derrek Bartz contributed 5 points, Hunter Norby swished a three pointer, Ashton Ecker added a basket, and Bobby Anderson converted two free throws to round out the scoring for the Arrows. Ashby shot 46% (28/61) for the game. They gathered 34 rebounds and committed 19 turnovers.
Senior guard Matt Thielen, the Warriors all-time career leading scorer, topped all players in the game making 30 points including 8 three pointers.
"Was a hard fought game," said Warriors Head Coach Jordon Roos. "Ashby was hot in the first half hitting 8 3’s and finishing at the rim, was tough for us to stop. We made a run in the second half with some pressure at the end and came up just short."
"Seeing a 20 point second half lead shrink to one possession, we made 7 straight free throws and got a couple of clutch stops to secure the win," noted Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.
The Arrows enter the playoffs next week with a record of 18-8.
