Otter Girls Knock Wadena-Deer Creek from 8AA Tournament with 63-42 Win

Fergus Falls forced 18 Wadena-Deer Creek turnovers on the way to a 63-42 Section 8AA playoff victory over the Wolverines on Thursday night.  The Otters led 39-14 at the half.

Ellie Colbeck led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points.  Sabrina Fronning and Tori Ratz joined Colbeck in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively, and Anna Anderson scored 9 points off the bench.

Colbeck led the Otters with 8 rebounds and 4 assists.  Fronning snared 4 rebounds and assisted on 3 baskets, and Ratz had 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.

“I thought our defense in the first half was tremendous,” said Head Coach Brad Strand of the Otters.  “We had great energy from all the girls playing together.  It was really good get all 17 girls on the floor tonight and I really liked the balanced scoring we had.”

Fergus Falls (23-4) will now face Park Rapids Area on Saturday at 4:30pm at Concordia College in Moorhead.
