The game between Wheaton/Herman-Norcross and Battle Lake was tied at 18-18 at halftime, but the Battlers gained the lead in the second half and held on for a 52-47 victory over the Warriors.

Riley Leabo, Brennan Amundson and Drew Johnson all had 13 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for Battle Lake.

“We held on in what was an ugly game for us,” said Battle Lake Head Coach C.J. Peeters.  “We are completely gassed it seems.  Three games a week and 4 in the last 7 days and it showed.  I’m glad we didn’t completely fold and we did have some bright moments, but not our best effort.”

Matt Thielen and Dylan Bainbridge scored 17 points apiece to lead Wheaton/Herman-Norcross.

"Was a very good basketball game, close the whole game," said Warriors Head Coach Jordon Roos. "Battle Lake made more plays than us at the end and came out on top."

Battle Lake (11-12) ends their regular season schedule at Bertha on Friday night.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (10-13) is at Ashby on Thursday.
