Battle Lake hosted Frazee in a high school boys’ basketball game on Friday night with the Hornets knocking off the Battlers 86-72.

Brennan Amundson scored a game high 27 points to lead Battle Lake.  Drew Johnson added 17, Brady VanErp had 12 and Riley Leabo contributed 10 points.

“We fought hard but ran out of gas and no defense for us tonight,” said Head Coach C.J. Peeters of the Battlers.  “We could score every time we took care of the ball and they could, too.  We tried to do too much and got carried away with someone else’s game flow.  We played to their favor tonight and we bit hard on it.”

Broden Fleisher led the Hornets with 16, including career point number 1000.  Jack Courneya had 15, Justin Courneya scored 14, George Flynn and Cole Fleisher added 13 apiece and Reid Eckert was also in double digits with 10 points.

Battle Lake (10-12) will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Monday night.

Frazee (10-13) will close out their regular season with a home game against New York Mills next Friday.
