Cardinals Lose to Brainerd/Little Falls in 6A Girls Hockey Semi's

Alexandria fell to Brainerd/Little Falls in the Section 6A girls’ hockey semifinals on Tuesday night, losing by the score of 3-1.  The Cardinals were outshot in the game, 24-16.

Brainerd/Little Falls scored at the 6:46 mark of the opening period when Molly Hagelie scored on the power play with assists from Emma Booth and Shaylee Stroot.

Marki Oberg pulled the Cardinals even with a goal at 15:05 of the second period, assisted by Hanley Block and Riley Nyberg.

Brainerd/Little Falls went ahead 2-1 on a goal by Sophie Robinson at 2:33 of the third.  Booth and Stroot again earned assists on the goal.  Lindsey Booth scored the final goal of the game with just 18 seconds remaining, assisted by Taylor Larson, to make the final 3-1.

Alexandria goalie Jordan O’Kane stopped 21 of the 24 shots she faced and Breya Sawyer made 15 saves in the Brainerd/Little Falls net.
