The Ashby Arrows Boys Basketball Team defeated the Ortonville Trojans 54-43.  Ashby led 33-20 at halftime.

Jacob Cook was the Arrows leading scorer netting 18 points.  Jaden Norby contributed 17 points and Hunter Norby scored a dozen.

The Arrows shot 39% (21/56) from the field, 28% (5/18) from behind the three point line, and a chilly 41% (7/17) at the charity stripe.  Jaden Norby chased down 21 of the Arrows 41 rebounds.  Hunter Norby dished out 5 assists and grabbed 4 steals.

The Trojans were led by Peter Treinen and Zach Kuchenmeister with 18 and 12 points, respectively.

“We had too many consecutive one and done offensive possessions allowing Ortonville to cut the lead to one,” said Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “The team relied on their defensive energy for much of the game.”

With Brandon-Evansville pulling off the upset win in Parkers Prairie on Tuesday night, the Arrows and Panthers share the Little Eight Conference crown.

The Arrows are currently 15-8 for the season and take on the Verndale Pirates Thursday.
