Knights hit 16 threes again in win over CGB

The West Central Area Knights hit 16 threes for the second straight game in an 85-29 win over the CGB Wolverines.  The Knights opened up a 51-14 halftime lead.  They were 16-34 for 47% from three and 32-59 for 54% overall.  They hit 5-5 from the free throw line.  The Wolverines were 11-30 from the field for 37% and made 5-12 threes for 42%. They were 2-4 from the line.

The Knights forced 21 CGB turnovers and held a 32-15 rebounding advantage.  Sophomore Ryder Staples led another balanced attack with 16 points while Jacob Bright added 14, Grant Beuckens 14, Jack VanKempen 14, Tate Christenson 9, Brady Reeve 6, Xander Bontjes 5, Cole Anderson 3, Jacob Strunk 2, and Nathaiel Junker scoring his first two varsity points.

VanKempen and Bright each ripped down 8 rebounds while Reeve had 5.  Christenson had 9 assists, Beuckens 4, and Bright 3.  Bright and Beuckens each had 5 steals and Christenson 4.

"I liked the energy we came out with tonight. I also liked how our bench played when they had a chance to play extended minutes tonight," said Knights Coach Kraig Hunter.

Scoring for CGB were Nate Moberg with 8, Cole Gilsdorf 7, Alex Sigler 6, Ryan Geray 5, and Taylor Stewart 3.
