Spartans Drop 89-77 Decision to Blue Jays in Worthington

Minnesota West led 37-34 at halftime and went on to defeat Minnesota State by the score of 89-77 on Thursday night in Worthington.

The Blue Jays made 41% (11-27) of their 3-pointers and hit 28-of-37 (76%) of their free throws.  Christofer Morales recorded a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.  Emmanuel Akot led them with 22 points and also snared 8 rebounds, and Jaimon Cheek had 21 points.

M State shot just 37.5% (24-64) from the field, but made 16-of-22 (73%) free throw attempts.  They were led by 20 points from James HobsonAlend Alemadi and Zakaria Zaid added 16 points each and Alex Hendricks came off the bench to score 13.  Hobson led with 9 rebounds and Alemadi and Mert Taylor each had 4 assists.

The Spartans will play at Rochester on Saturday afternoon.
