Otter Girls Come up Short Against Sauk Centre

The Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team met Sauk Centre at St. John’s on Saturday afternoon and the Mainstreeters recorded a 52-48 victory over the Otters.  Sauk Centre led 20-12 at the half.

Fergus Falls went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 35-33 midway through the second half and actually took a 3-point lead with around four minutes remaining in the game.  Sauk Centre made their free throws down the stretch, hitting 14-of-15 in the second half and 17-of-19 on the night.  Tori Peschel was 6-for-6 from the line down the stretch to help secure the win.

Leading scorers for Sauk Centre were Michaela Dammann with 19 and Julia Dammann with 15.  Peschel finished with 7 points and 12 rebounds.

Leaders for Fergus Falls were Ellie Colbeck and Tori Ratz with 12 points apiece.  Paige Pearson added 6 points and 7 rebounds.  Carlie Meis and Sabrina Fronning had 7 points each.

Fergus Falls (20-4) will play their final regular season home game on Tuesday against St. Cloud Tech.
