Brandon-Evansville overcame a 22-17 halftime deficit to beat Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 54-44 in a high school girls’ basketball contest on Saturday afternoon.

“It was a great team effort tonight to really gut out and earn a win today against a quality Wheaton team,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zach Traphagen. “I’m really proud of the way the girls applied pressure to force 25 turnovers and get some easier baskets off of those turnovers. The second half effort was very good all-around, and we had some players really step up off the bench when they needed to.”

Bailey Schaefer scored a team high 17 points and completed her double-double by snaring 10 rebounds.  She also dished out 3 assists and came away with 3 steals.  Kristen Kokett had 10 points and a team high 7 steals.  Kailee Klimek added 8 points for the Chargers.

Brandon-Evansville (15-10) closes out their regular season schedule at Melrose on Thursday night.
