In a battle of first place teams in the Little Eight Conference the Parkers Prairie Panthers defeated the Ashby Arrows 68-61.  Ashby held a 34-24 advantage at halftime.

Jacob Cook led the Arrows with 24 points.  Jaden Norby added 18 points and Noah Johnson finished with 10 points.  Hunter Norby chased down 10 of the Arrows 30 rebounds.  Ashby shot 45% (25/56) from the field.  They made 27% (4/15) of their three point attempts and shot 58% (7/13) at the free throw line.

The Panthers point guard Alex Koep led all scorers with 27 points including 21 in the second half.  Micah Arens and Josh Helling also reached double figures for the Panthers with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

“Alex Koep imposed his will on the game in the second half,” said Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “The Panthers also got second and third shot opportunities on several possessions.  We have to learn to play with better composure at the end and finish off games.”

The Arrows conclude the Little Eight Conference schedule with a 10-2 record.  They are 14-8 overall.   Ashby travels to Ortonville next Tuesday night.

Parkers Prairie (18-4, 10-1 LEC) can claim the Little Eight title outright with a win at home against Brandon-Evansville on Tuesday night.
