The Rothsay boys’ basketball team traveled to Fergus Falls Friday night to take on Hillcrest Lutheran Academy.  The Rothsay boys came out with a 52-46 victory.

“As a staff we really challenged our boys to lock in and play harder on the defensive side of the ball, and really play with more positive emotion, and tonight they did that,” said Rothsay Head Coach Taylor Fuhs. “We really communicated and competed really well.  We also were great from the free throw line to finish the game.”

Rothsay was led by Tanner Heier with 20 points and Jett Kulack with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Rothsay made 23-of-27 free throws.

Leaders for Hillcrest were Micah Foss (15 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals), Thomas Zwiers (11 points, 8 rebounds) and Sam Brumfield (10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists).  The Comets made only 28% (18-65) of their shots from the floor.

Rothsay (4-19) will play at Underwood on Tuesday night.

Hillcrest (7-13) will host Battle Lake on Tuesday.
