Knights get 20th win

The West Central Knights picked up their 20th win of the season by defeating a good Lac qui Parle Valley team 78-61 on Friday night in an exciting game as the teams combined to make thirty 3-pointers.

The Knights made 16-33 threes for 49% and the Eagles mad 14-33 for 42%.  Overall the Knights were 28-53 for 53% and the Eagles 21-46 for 46%.  The Knights made 6-9 free throws and the Eagles 5-10. The Knights had a dominating rebounding effort grabbing 34 to 22 for the Eagles. Both teams turned the ball over 11 times.

"LQPV is a good team that shot the ball well. I love how we are so calm under pressure and how we always respond," said Knight Coach Kraig Hunter.

Brady Reeve led the Knights with 20 points, Jack Van Kempen had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists, and Gage Staples also had 19 points. Tate Christenson continues to be a difference maker for the Knights as he had 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. Jacob Bright had 6 points, 4 assists, and led the team with 3 steals; Grant Beuckens had 4 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals; and Ryder Staples had 2 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Jacob Strunk had one steal.

Scoring for LQPV were Austin Bonn with 18 points, Maverick Conn 17, Evan Heglund 17, Mason Clark 6, and Kaiden Alpress 3.

The Knights (20-2) will travel to CGB on Tuesday night.
