Battle Lake won their Little Eight Conference contest against Underwood on Friday night, 62-44, in Battle Lake.

“It was Senior Night for us, so I’m glad we were able to get the W,” stated Battle Lake Head Coach C.J. Peeters.  “Both teams played hard.  The game got really physical, but we held on and pulled away in the last ten minutes.  Riley Leabo (20 points) and Brennan Amundson (19 points) had good night sin the book, but all of our seniors played hard and got a lot of time.  Glad we could get them great minutes on their night.”

Drew Johnson chipped in with 10 points for the Battlers.

The Rockets received 11 points from Krosby Aasness and eight each from Canaan Kugler and Winston Heifort.

"We really played hard tonight and battled throughout the game,” commented Underwood Head Coach Evan Meece.  “Other than a couple minute stretch at the end of the first half, we played extremely well in the first half.  We stayed with them and kept fighting all the way to the end of the game.  Battle Lake ended up matching our intensity and pulling away at the end of the game for the win."

Battle Lake (8-11, 5-6 LEC) will play their final Little Eight Conference game of the season at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls on Tuesday night.

Underwood will entertain Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal on Monday and Rothsay on Tuesday.
