Fergus Falls struggled from the start of their game against Moorhead on Thursday night, scoring just 14 first half points as they shot poorly and turned the ball over 11 times as the Spuds drained six first half three's and built a 33-14 halftime advantage on the way to a 68-59 victory on the Otters home floor.

Moorhead scored the first ten points of the night and at one time led by 22 in the opening half.  That lead increased to 25 points when the Spuds took a 43-18 lead.  The Otters fought back to cut the lead to seven at 49-42, but Moorhead responded and re-established a double digit lead to curb the Fergus Falls rally.

Samantha Zimmerman had a team high 24 points to lead the Spuds.  Samantha Hulst added 17 and Rylie Polomny contributed 14.  Moorhead made 20-of-27 free throws on the night.

Ellie Colbeck developed a hot hand in the second half, scoring 30 of her game high 36 points to carry the Otters back into the contest.  Colbeck added 3 steals and 2 blocked shots.  Tori Ratz was held without a point but led Fergus Falls with 5 assists.  Sabrina Fronning finished with 6 points, 4 assists and 3 steals, and Gretchen Davis had a team high 6 rebounds to go along with 6 points.  Carlie Meis chipped in with 9 points off the bench.

Fergus Falls won the JV game 47-29 to improve to 18-4.  Ainsley Hansen and Logan Strom led the way with 13 and 11 points, respectively.  In the 'C' game the Otters won 33-23 to improve their season record to 13-7.

Fergus Falls (20-3) will travel to St. John's to face Sauk Centre on Saturday at 3:30pm.
