Otter Girls Win for Twentieth Time

Fergus Falls took control early in the game on Tuesday night as the Otter girls’ led 52-31 at the half and wound up winning their game against Sauk Rapids-Rice by the final score of 76-52 on Educator Appreciation Night at Kennedy Secondary School.

“I was very pleased with our first half tonight,” said Head Coach Brad Strand of the Otters. “It was a great night to honor anyone connected with the school system and our kids performed at a high level.”

Tori Ratz scored 23 of her game high 26 points in the first half and also dished out 3 assists, while picking up 4 steals on the night.  She was joined in double figures by Sabrina Fronning with 12 and Hannah Polejewski with 11.  Fronning stuffed the stat sheet with 8 assists, 5 steals and 5 rebounds.  Gretchen Davis had a solid floor game with 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals.  Anna Anderson added 4 assists in the contest.  The Otters were without their floor leader and leading scorer, Ellie Colbeck, who was home ill.

Sauk Rapids-Rice was led by Shayna Payonk with 18 points.

In the JV contest, Emily Nuss, Katie Strommen and Ainsley Hansen all contributed 10 points as the Otters won 57-13.  The ‘C’ team won 41-22 with Cyntreya Lockett scoring 13 points.

Fergus Falls (20-2) will host the Moorhead Spuds on Thursday night.
