Otter Boys Fall to St. Cloud in Regular Season Finale

St. Cloud put 43 shots on goal and the Fergus Falls boys’ managed 30 shots on Monday night in a 4-2 St. Cloud victory over the Otters at the Community Arena in Fergus Falls.

Logen Schake got the home team an early lead as he scored nine seconds into the game from Andrew Johnson.  St. Cloud pulled even at 9:26 when Blake Keller buried the puck from Luke Johnson and August Falloon.

In the second period St. Cloud increased their lead to 3-1 with a pair of goals.  The first came at 5:24 from Tommy Amundson, assisted by Eric Warner and Luke Johnson.  The second from Keller at 11:42, setup by Jack Randolph and Sean Davidson.

Fergus Falls trimmed the lead to 3-2 with a power play goal from Colton Partain at 13:38 of the third.  Isaac Young and Kaden Peterson earned assists on the goal.  With just 1:18 to play in the period, Luke Johnson completed the scoring for St. Cloud, giving them a 4-2 lead.  Keller picked up the assist on the goal.

Ben Swanson made 39 saves in the Otter net.

Fergus Falls will take a record of 11-13-1 into the Section 6A playoffs.  They will learn their seeding position and first round opponent on Wednesday.
