Blue Devils Put Six Players in Double Digits in Win Over Spartans

M State fell behind 56-27 at halftime and things didn’t get any better in the second half as the Riverland Blue Devils went on to post a 110-65 victory over the Spartans in Fergus Falls on Saturday.

Riverland shot 56.6% (43-76) from the field and made 50% (20-40) 3-pointers on the day, placing six players in double digits.  They were led by 20 points from Montrell JacobsDeandre Anderson and Eddie Oyet contributed 16 and 15 points, respectively, coming off the bench.  Other double digit scorers were Tate Hebrink with 12, Terrel Smith with 11 and Nyagoa Obany with 10.

The Spartans were led by 23 points from Alex Hendricks and 20 from James HobsonZakaria Zaid added 9 points and 8 rebounds.  Hobson also had 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals, while Hendricks came up with 3 assists and 6 boards.  M State shot 39.4% (26-66) from the field and made only 9-of-35 (25.7%) from 3-point range.

M State (8-15, 2-8 MCAC South) will play at Minnesota West in Worthington on Wednesday night.
