The Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team took a 30-19 halftime lead at Minnetonka on Saturday afternoon, however, the Otters were held to 12 second half points and eventually lost in overtime by the score of 49-47.

Molly Oehme scored the game winner at the buzzer after Ellie Colbeck had tied the game with a free throw with six seconds remaining in the game.

“A game like this is just going to help with our preparation for tournament play,” said Head Coach Brad Strand of the Otters.  “Paige Pearson got into some foul trouble and I thought Gretchen Davis and Anna Anderson really stepped up and played tough against their good post players.”

Colbeck scored a game high 25 points, collected 9 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and had 5 steals to lead the Otters.  Tori Ratz finished with 12 points and 2 assists.  Sabrina Fronning had 6 rebounds and Anna Anderson came up with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Minnetonka point guard Desiree Ware, who assisted on the winning basket, scored a team high 14 to lead the Skippers.  Sophie Haydon added 12.

Fergus Falls won the JV game 35-28 with Ainsley Hansen scoring 11 points.  They also won the ‘C’ game 47-31, led by Karley Braeger with 13 points.

Fergus Falls (19-2) will host Sauk Rapids-Rice on Tuesday night.
