Perham Holds Off Cathedral for 67-62 Boys Basketball Victory

The Perham boys’ basketball team passed a stiff test on Tuesday night as they held off St. Cloud Cathedral to win their sixteenth straight game.  Perham led 31-23 at the half and wound up winning by the final score of 67-62.

Finn Diggins made 11-of-21 field goal attempts to finish with a game high 25 points.  He also dished out 3 assist and grabbed 7 rebounds.  Elijah Morris contributed 13 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists and Charlie Rasmussen finished with 11 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. 

The Yellowjackets made 46% (25-54) of their shots from the floor and 12-of-16 (75%) free throws.  They also held a 32-24 edge on the boards, led by 8 from Gunnar Anderson.  Anderson also had 8 points and 3 assists.

The Crusaders hit 44% (19-43) of their shots, including 9-of-24 (37.5%) 3’s.  The also made 15-of-18 free throws.  They were led by 21 points from Andrew Wiesser and 16 from Jacob StoltzenbergJonah Prom led Cathedral with 9 boards.

Perham (16-0) will host Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference contest on Thursday night before going to Alexandria to face Osakis on Saturday at 6:00pm in the Winter Lakes Classic.
