Pelican Rapids held Crookston to four first half points as they led 11-4 at the break in a battle of section opponents on Saturday at the Moorhead High School. The second half saw more scoring, but the Vikings were able to maintain their lead and record a 32-27 victory over the Pirates, running their record to 20-0. The loss puts Crookston at 16-4 on the season.
Greta Tollefson scored 12 points to lead the lady Vikings and Anna Stephenson added 9 points. Rebound leaders were Abby Syverson with 8, Tollefson with 7 and Stephenson with 5. Tollefson also had 3 steals and Maddie Guler led the team with 3 assists.
Pelican Rapids will have back to back road games this week, traveling to Ada to face the Ada-Borup Cougars on Friday night and then going to Graceville for a 6:00pm game against C-G-B on Saturday.
