Red Lake Falls Edges Breckenridge/Wahpeton 6-5

Red Lake Falls put 31 shots on the Breckenridge/Wahpeton net on Saturday afternoon, scoring six goals and defeating the Blades 6-5.

Jase Jensen got the Blades on the board first, scoring from Tanner Barth at 2:51 of the first period.  Six seconds later Red Lake Falls tied the game on a Zak Kennett goal, assisted by Nathan HuotBlake Arlt gave Red Lake Falls a 2-1 lead at 4:10 with Kennett assisting.  At the elven minute mark Ty Kennett increased the Red Lake Falls lead to 3-1 with assists from Zak Kennett and Nathan Huot.  Jensen then tallied the second goal of the game for Breck/Wahp at 12:02, assisted by Barth and Jared Aamold.

Red Lakes Falls notched the first goal of the second period at 4:59 to make it a 4-2 game.  Zak Kennett scored from Ty Kennett and Blake Arlt.  Breckenridge/Wahpeton tied the game with goals from Jensen, assisted by Barth, at 6:59, and Isaac Wohlers, assisted by Jensen at 8:03.

Red Lake Falls took a 5-4 lead at 2:38 when Blane Schmitz scored a power play goal from Zak Kennett and Nathan Huot.  The took a two-goal lead at 11:57 when Evan Girdler cashed in on the power play with assists from Zak Kennett and Ty Kennett.  Breckenridge/Wahpeton concluded the scoring at 14:50 when Carson Hought scored a power play goal from James Finkral and Jensen.

Jared Aamold stopped 25 of 31 Red Lake Falls shots on goal in the Breckenridge/Wahpeton net.  The Blades had 22 shots on goal.

Breckenridge/Wahpeton (13-8) will host Kittson Central on Thursday night and Becker/Big Lake on Saturday afternoon.
