“We got off to a great start in Barrett tonight and led early, but the Knights came back quickly and they maintained a 2 point lead at the half, 24-26,” reported Battle Lake Head Coach David Marso.  “After the break, the Knights really stepped up their defensive pressure and we struggled to score.  The WCA lead quickly grew as our lack of offense continued throughout the rest of the game.”

Morgan Malone had 9 of her team high 11 points in the second half to help keep Battle Lake in the game, but it wasn't enough.  Grace VanErp led the team with 16 rebounds followed by Malone who grabbed 11 boards. 

The Knights were led by Halie Bennett with 12 points.

Battle Lake (5-11) will travel to play Lake Park-Audubon on Tuesday night.

West Central Area (14-4) now has 8 straight wins.  They will play at Menahga on Thursday night.
