Otter Boys Hockey team Blanks Red Wing for Sixth Straight Win

The Fergus Falls boys’ hockey team bombarded the Red Wing net with 58 shots, scored on 3-of-6 power play opportunities and tallied 7 goals from 7 different players in a 7-0 road victory on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman goalie Ben Swanson stopped all 24 shots he faced to earn the shutout.

Isaac Young scored the first goal of the game at 2:32 of the opening period, assisted by Kaden Peterson.

Maveric Kalenberg scored at 9:47 of the second period, from Cole Wentworth, giving the Otters a 2-0 lead.

The Otters erupted for five third period goals, starting when Cole Zierden buried the puck at 1:26 of the period.  He was assisted by Logen Schake and Isaac Young. An Isaac Johnson power play goal at 3:36 was unassisted and gave the Otters a 4-0 advantage.  Peterson notched a power play goal from Michael DeBrito at 4:56 and Andrew Johnson scored from Isaac Johnson and Schake at 6:29.  The final goal came on the power play from Wyatt Goetz, assisted by Hayden Shol.

The win was the sixth in a row for the Otters who are now 10-9-1.  They will play at Little Falls on Tuesday night.
