The Wolverines got off to a fast start, taking a 3-0 lead after one period of play. John Oberg started the scoring with assists from Lleyten Pettit and Chase Domier at 3:54. Less than a minute later, at 4:32, Connor Davis scored from Austyn Oothoudt and Daunte Leiran. The third goal of the period came at the 13:03 mark and was scored by Aidan Allred. Dalton Moyer earned the assist.
Oberg notched his second goal of the night at 3:23 of the second period with assists from Brady Domier and Leiran. Davis got his second tally of the game at 9:01 with assists from Oothoudt and Cole Woods. Alex Rolsfson got Bagley/Fosston on the board with an unassisted goal at 11:54.
Rolsfson scored again at 3:08 of the third, from Jacy Benson and Isaac Schermherhorn, cutting the Wadena-Deer Creek lead to 5-2, however, a pair of Dalton Moyer goals, the first an unassisted tally at 16:17 into an empty net, and the second at 16:56 from Pettit, completed the scoring in the game.
Josh Dykhoff made 11 saves on 13 shots to claim the win in the Wolverines net.
The win puts WDC at 6-12-1 heading into their Friday game at Northern Lakes.
