“We really weren’t able to get anything easy tonight, they played very tough defense and it was a physical game,” said Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Head Coach Jordon Roos. “We went on a long scoring drought in the first half. We played great defense to keep us in the game and helped us eventually battle back in second half, however, we didn’t execute down the stretch to complete the comeback.”
It was a defensive battle as neither team shot the ball well. Hancock hit 36.5% of their field goal attempts and the Warriors made 31.4% of their shots.
Clint Determan led Wheaton/Herman-Norcross with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Nick Lupkes added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, and Dylan Bainbridge added 9 points and 3 assists. The Owls held Matt Thielen to just 5 points in the game on 2-of-16 shooting.
