Parkers Prairie hosted Battle Lake in a Little Eight Conference girls’ basketball contest on Tuesday night with the Panthers recording a 56-51 victory over the lady Battlers.

“We played a great game tonight and gave the Panthers all they wanted,” said Head Coach David Marso of Battle Lake.

The game went back and forth throughout the first half and the Panthers held a slim 31-32 lead at the break. In the second half the Panthers were able to extend their lead but could only hold a single digit lead throughout the half.  In the end, the Battlers couldn't convert a couple shots to close the gap.

Makenna Tysdal had a great offensive game and led Battle Lake with 18 points, including 4 three point shots and going 4 for 4 from the free throw line.  Grace VanErp also chipped in 14 points in the effort.

Megan Blake led the Panthers with 18 points and Faith Alberts added 13 in their win.

Battle Lake (5-10) will play West Central Area in Barrett next Monday night.

Parkers Prairie (10-4) will host Underwood on Thursday night.
