Four Game Winning Streak Ends as Otter Boys Fall to Spuds

The Moorhead Spuds placed four players in double digits and maintained their seven point halftime lead on Tuesday night, finishing with a 78-71 victory over the Otters in Fergus Falls.

 

Trey Feeney and Blake Walthall led the Spuds with 17 points each.  Drew Hagen finished with 16 and Brady Walthall had 14.  Moorhead buried ten 3’s on the night, led by Hagen with 4 and Blake Walthall with 3.

The Spuds led 42-35 at halftime.  With the game tied at 47-47 the Spuds went on an eight point run and eventually built their lead to nine points.  The Otters got within three points, trailing 74-71, and had a 3-point look that wouldn’t fall.  Moorhead then made their free throws down the stretch to win by seven points.

Chance Fazio (30 points, 11 rebounds) led the Otters with a double-double.  Dominic Aguilar had 18 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds.  Ethan Olson was also in double digits with 10 points and Brock Kotschevar had a pair of 3’s among his 8 points.  Cody Norgren pulled down 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.

Fergus Falls (10-4) will host St. Cloud Apollo on Thursday night.
