Underwood took a 32-16 halftime lead on the way to a 49-34 Little Eight Conference road win over Brandon-Evansville on Tuesday night.

“We didn't play our best tonight on the offensive end, hats off to the Chargers as they forced us into poor choices,” said Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland. “Defensively, we played really well.   We did get into some foul trouble in the first half, we got a nice spark right before half with our bench players going on a nice run. We need to get back to work tomorrow as we travel to take on a very good Parkers team Thursday.”

Brooke Hovland paced Underwood with 10 points and added 3 steals.  Ceri Meech and Ally Johnson each had 8 points.  Meech added 6 rebounds and 7 steals.  Josey Bugbee had 6 points, 6 rebounds and 6 steals and Kayla Rocholl contributed 7 points and 4 assists.  The Rockets made 47% (20-42) of their field goal attempts.

Haddey Zastrow and Mikenna Pattrin led the Chargers with 9 points each.  Brittany Korkowski and Bailey Schaefer contributed 7 and 6 points, respectively.  Korkowski led Brandon-Evansville with 9 rebounds and Pattrin had 6 boards and 3 steals.

“Credit to Underwood tonight in causing a multitude of problems for us offensively,” commented B-E Head Coach Zach Traphagen. “We turned the ball over way too many times to give us a chance to win the game. Tomorrow is a new day for us to turn the page and get better so we can play to our standard on Thursday at Rothsay.”

Underwood (10-5) will travel to Parkers Prairie for a Little Eight Conference contest on Thursday night.

Brandon-Evansville (10-6) will play at Rothsay on Thursday and will host Osakis on Friday.
