Bright Reaches 1,000 Career Points as Lady Knights Win in Ashby

The West Central Area Lady Knights traveled to Ashby on Tuesday night to take on the Arrows in the Grant County Cup.  The game started out with solid possessions for the Knights and they started to build a lead.  In the first half Lexi Bright scored her career 1,000 point and the lead grew to 45-12 at halftime.  The second half was an evenly contested match.  The score was 74-43 in the end. 

The Lady Knights were led by Elizabeth Rustan and Lexi Bright with 14 points each.  Bright added 8 steals, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.  Rustan added 3 steals, 3 assists, a rebound and a block.  Claire Stark had 11 points, 4 steals and 3 rebounds.  Hailey Bennett put in 7 points to go along with 4 rebounds, a block and a steal.  Brynn Fernholz had 7 points, 6 steals, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and a block.  Kaylyn Ulrich scored 6 points and grabbed 5 big rebounds.  Kaitlyn Hansen had 5 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist.  Teagan Nelson had 5 points, 4 rebounds and a steal.  Halle Foslien had 3 points and 4 rebounds on the night. Brooke Anderson had 2 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds and a steal.  Ireland Winter had a rebound and an assist on the night.

“The girls played hard tonight and did a nice job rallying together to grow a lead.  We can still tighten up some loose ends to ensure we put ourselves in the best positions continually in games,” stated Coach Eric Schoenbauer
