Knights win big in Ortonville

The West Central Area Knights traveled to Ortonville and dominated in every facet of the game in an 84-31 win on Thursday night.  Ortonville scored the first four points and once the Knights got going they scored the next 31 straight points to take a 31-4 lead and led 46-15 at the half.

The Knights shot 34-57 for 60% and made 10-22 threes along with 6-8 free throws.  The Knights defense held the Trojans to 12-43 shooting for 28% and held them to only 2-17 from the 3point line. The Trojans made 5-9 free throws.

The Knights had a dominant rebounding performance outrebounding Ortonville 37-20.  They turned the ball over 10 times and forced the Trojans into 20. 

The Knights had balanced scoring as Grant Beuckens led the way with 18, Tate Christenson 13, Jack VanKempen 13, Blake Koloski 11, Gage Staples 10, Jacob Bright 9, Ryder Staples 5, Cole Anderson 3, and Xander Bontjes 2.

Van Kempen and Christenson were the rebounding leaders with 8 and 7 respectively.  Christenson and Koloski were the assist leaders with 5 each and Christenson and Bright each had 3 steals.

Scoring for the Trojans were Owen Longnecker 5, Jacob Rademacher 5, Nathaniel Miska 4, Devon Hanson 4, Peter Treinen 3, Zach Kuchenmeister 2,  Micah Heinrich 2, Caleb Edwards 2, Carter Powell 2, and Keegan Hamann 2.

The Knights are now 11-2 and will host Hillcrest on Monday. Ortonville falls to 4-4 and will play at Minneota on Monday.
