Hillcrest Lutheran Academy gave Parkers Prairie all they wanted in a Little Eight Conference girls’ basketball contest on Thursday night in Fergus Falls.  The Panthers came out on top, 53-43 in a hard-fought battle.

Faith Albert scored 20 points to lead the visitors.  Hali Moske and Megan Blake each scored a dozen.

“We were down by five with a few minutes left and had to foul,” stated Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark.  “Parkers knocked down their free throws.  I was so proud of how the girls battled tonight.  We lost by 38 points the first time we played them and this game really showed just how much we’ve improved as a team.”

Mackenzie Foss (23 points, 10 rebounds), Molly McGuire (10 points, 8 rebounds) and Anna Rasmussen (6 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists) led the Comets.  Cassy Twedt added 6 rebounds.

“Anna had an outstanding all-around game for us,” noted Clark.  “Mackenzie really took control offensively and was able to score from both inside and out.  Molly played really well, hitting some big shots late in the second half and did a great job directing our defense.”

Hillcrest is off until Tuesday when they will host West Central Area.

Parkers Prairie (9-4) will face Ada-Borup at 4:30pm Saturday at UM-Morris.
