Henning Boys Stretch Winning Streak to Six Games

The Henning boys’ basketball team held Verndale to ten points in the first half as they vaulted to a 38-10 halftime lead and went on to record a 67-27 victory on Thursday night.

“A nice conference win on the road,” commented Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “Verndale is a very young team and our experience was definitely a factor.” 

The Hornets were led by Blake Wallevand (16 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds), Isaac Fisher (13 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds) and Blaine Wallevand (12 points, 2 assists, 3 rebounds, 4 steals).  Parker Fraki added 7 points, 5 assists, 5 steals and 4 rebounds.

Henning shot 57% (26-45) from the field and made 36% (7-19) of their three-pointers.

The Hornets (13-1) have won six straight games.  They will host Ashby on Friday night.

Verndale (2-10) is off until Tuesday when they play at New York Mills.
