Brandon-Evansville jumped to a 37-14 halftime lead and went on to post a 62-44 victory over Ashby in Brandon on Monday night.

“We earned our 5th Little Eight Conference victory tonight and all 12 players got a chance to play,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Zach Traphagen. “I was happy with our team free throw shooting tonight, and not so happy with our lack of moving our feet defensively which led to us committing some silly fouls. Credit to the scrappy play of Ashby, they have some real quickness on their team. We get two days to rest up and get some things ironed out in practice before welcoming a Battle Lake team that’s playing strong as of late.”

Leaders for B-E were Bailey Schaefer (19 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals), Mikenna Pattrin (11 points, 3 blocks) and Caitlyn Deschene (10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals).  The Chargers shot 40% (20-49) from the field and made 20-of-27 free throws for 74%.

Brandon-Evansville (9-5, 5-0 LEC) will host Battle Lake on Thursday night, while Ashby (3-10) will host West Central Area on Tuesday night.
