12U B Girls Go 1-1 on the Road

The Fergus Falls 12U B girls’ hockey team went 1-1 this past weekend as they took to the road to face Little Falls/Brainerd and Alexandria.

On Saturday, they traveled to Little Falls. Rachel Debrito got the Otters on the board first as Shay Katzenmeyer and Ava Eklund teamed up for the assist. Three minutes later Olivia Jurgens doubled the lead as the Otters jumped on Little Falls/Brainerd 2-0. Jurgens was assisted by Kalysta Arndt and Ava Noon. Hannah Johnson got the third and final goal for the Otters in the first period, assisted by Katzenmeyer and Katie Bergren. Debrito scored the 4th consecutive goal for the Otters. Debrito’s goal came quickly in the second period. Little Falls/Brainerd answered back with a goal of their own. Johnson gave the Otters a 5-1 lead with her second goal of the game. Johnson was assisted by Katzenmeyer and Abygehl Schuman. Eklund got her second assist of the game as Atleigh Shol increased the Otters lead to 6-1. Both teams exchanged goals one more time as the Otters beat Little Falls/Brainerd 7-2. The seventh and final goal came off of Johnson who finished with a hat trick. Johnson was assisted by Katzenmeyer. Katzenmeyer finished the game with four assists.

The Otters took on a very tough Alexandria team on Sunday. The first period was very competitive as both teams exchanged shots on goal but finished the first 0-0. Seconds into the second period Alexandria scored taking a 1-0 lead. Halfway through the second period Alexandria scored again as they now had a 2-0 lead. Otters cut the lead in half as Debrito scored unassisted. Going into the third period the Otters trailed by one. However, Alexandria pulled away by scoring three times in the final period. Alexandria defeated the Otters 5-1.

Otters continue to have a great season as they are now 11-6 on the year.
