Hornets Shoot 54% in Win over New York Mills

Blake Wallevand knocked down seven three-pointers and led Henning with 33 points on 12-of-18 shooting (7-11 on 3’s) as the Hornets posted a 77-41 win over New York Mills on Saturday afternoon in Verndale.

Henning made 54% (29-53) of their shots and connected on 51% (14-27) of their treys.

“We came out of the gates very determined and jumped to a nice lead early,” commented Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “Our defense set the tone and helped us get into a nice offensive flow.” 

Parker Fraki hit 7-of-11 shots, finishing with 17 points and Blaine Wallevand was also in double figures with ten.  Blake Wallevand led the team with 6 rebounds and 5 steals, and Frake dished out 8 assists while coming up with 4 steals.  Blaine Wallevand added 5 assists and 4 rebounds.

The Eagles were paced by 13 points from Tate OlsonIsaiah Laudenbach and Breck Hensch had 8 each.

New York Mills (7-3) will entertain Browerville/Eagle Valley on Monday night.

The Hornets travel to Barrett to face West Central Area on Tuesday.
