Brandon-Evansville lost to Ashby 61-57 Friday night in Ashby. Both teams had 25 points at the halftime break.

Jaden Norby led all scorers with a season high 21 points.  Jacob Cook scored 12 in the second half on the way to an 18 point night.  Torin Olson finished with 11 points.  Noah Johnson and Hunter Norby scored 6 and 5 points, respectively.  Ashton Ecker and Derrek Bartz made significant contributions off the bench.  The Arrows shot 48% (25/52) from the field including 30% (6/20) from three point range.  Noah chased down 6 of the Arrows 21 rebounds and Jaden dished out 6 of the 19 assists recorded.

“Our inside presence was an important factor in the outcome of the game,” said Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “What fans of high school basketball were treated to was good players on both teams making clutch plays at big times.”

The Arrows (8-3, 6-0 LEC) remain undefeated in the Little Eight Conference.  Next week they hit the road to take on state ranked teams at Parkers Prairie Tuesday and defending State Champion Henning Friday.

“Ashby deserved to win this game,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “They did more little things to beat us tonight. I loved our efforts, as always, but we turned it over and gave up too many offensive rebounds tonight.”

The Chargers (7-3, 4-1 LEC) will play at Hancock Monday night and will host Bertha-Hewitt on Tuesday.
