The Rothsay boys’ basketball team traveled to Pelican Rapids for a Friday night non-conference matchup.  Pelican Rapids took a 32–22 lead at halftime and went on to post a 77-56 victory.

The Vikings were led by Logan Fahje and Tanner Tollerud with 17 points each.  Liam Sytsma and Jayden Rutherford contributed 10 points apiece.

“Offensively we did some nice things tonight as we moved the ball well and were able to knock down some outside shots which led to a balanced scoring night as a team,” said Head Coach John Gullingsrud of the Vikings. “We struggled a little bit defensively in the half court as we didn’t do a very good job of staying in front of Colby Larson who had a great night on the offensive end.”

Rothsay was led by Colby Larson with 25 points and Sam Danielson with 14 points and 4 steals. Tanner Heier added 10 points for the Tigers.

Pelican Rapids (9-3) has won four straight games and seven of their last eight.  The Vikings will play Battle Lake at 2:30pm Saturday at Concordia College in Moorhead.

Rothsay (1-12) will host Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Tuesday, January 14.  That game marks the start of four straight home games.
