Pelican Rapids placed four players in double digits on Thursday night as they battle to a 77-72 win over the Frazee Hornets in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference boys’ basketball contest.

Logan Fahje led the way with 22 points and McHale Korf added 20.  Jayden Rutherford and Tanner Tollerud contributed 14 and 11 points, respectively.

“We started out the game by scoring the first nine points, but we hit a wall after that and found ourselves down by ten at the half,” said Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “Frazee held the lead for most of the second half as well as we battled through some foul trouble but stayed within striking distance. We finally regained the lead with just under three minutes left in the game at 71-70 and were able to hold them off in the last two minutes. The Hornets played well and shot the ball well, so we were fortunate to come away with the victory tonight.”

Jack Courneya led Frazee with 22 points.  Cole Fleisher and Broden Fleischer added 16 points each.

Pelican Rapids will host Rothsay on Friday night and will play Battle Lake at 2:30pm Saturday at Concordia College in Moorhead.
