The top two teams in the Class A Boys Basketball rankings went at it on Saturday morning at St. John’s University with number two BOLD defeating number one Henning by the final score of 77-70.  BOLD led 36-35 at halftime.

BOLD is maybe the best team in Class A and they proved it today,” commented Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “They are athletic, strong, aggressive, shoot the ball well, and get to the rim consistently. We dug ourselves a hole to start the second half and could never get closer than four points down the stretch.  We had a lot of guys step up and make plays to keep us in the game, but, BOLD was better than us today.”

Five players were in double figures for the Hornets, led by Parker Fraki with 17 points.  Blake Wallevand added 14, Isaac Fisher and Blaine Wallevand each contributed a dozen and Luke Bjorklund scored 11.

“We played two of the top teams in the state the last two days which will only help us later on,” noted Coach Misegades. “It doesn’t get any easier in 2020 as we start with two more top notch teams in the state as we battle NCE/UH and Ada-Borup West.  Hopefully we can get healthy and compete next week.”
