“We had a great start to the game as we jumped out to an 18-6 lead, but Hawley started hitting some outside shots as we struggled to locate their shooters and they took control the latter part of the first half before we tied it late to go into halftime at 39-39,” reported Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “The lead exchanged back and forth for the first ten minutes of the second half before we were able to build a little bit of a cushion and hold onto it down the stretch. The Nuggets shot the ball very well making twelve threes on the night, but we were able to come up with a few key stops in the second half to secure the win.”

McHale Korf scored 24 points and Jayden Rutherford added 21 to lead the Vikings.  Logan Fahje added 12 and Liam Sytsma had 10.

Hayden Grani produced 24 points to lead Hawley.  Brady Gratton added 18 and Mason Gratton had 13 for the Nuggets.

Pelican Rapids will host a Holiday Tournament on Friday, December 27 and Saturday, December 28.

Hawley will take a 1-4 record into the Fargo Oak Grove Tournament.
